1. define the major provisions of the Indian Penal Code and Criminal Procedure Code for protection of environment in India referring to Supreme Court decisions on the subject.

2. explain the facts and principles of legal regulations laid down in case of Ratlam Municipality V. Vardhi Chand, AIR 1980 S.C. 1622.

Unit two

3. Write short notes on any 2 of the following:

a) Water Testing Laboratories

b) Water Protection Boards

c) Water Pollution

4. elaborate the major preventive and penal provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 against water polluters in India?

Unit three

5. elaborate the major preventive and penal provisions of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 against air polluters in India? explain.

6. elaborate the salient features of the Environment Protection Act, 1986? explain in view of a few judicial decisions on the subject.

Unit four

7. Write short notes on the following:

a) Advantages of public interest litigation

b) Disadvantages of public interest litigation.

8. define the role of the National Environment Tribunals towards environment protection in India.

Unit five

9. Why and how the doctrine of "Absolute liability" is regarded as an improvement in the old concept of "Strict Liability" in the situation of environmental law? explain referring to cases.

10. elaborate the major aims and objects of the Public Liability Insurance Act, 1991? explain.
