(f)     Pb4+ compounds are oxidizing agents. Explain.

 

(g)    The O-O bond energy in O2 is much larger than S-S bond energy in S8. Explain.

 

(h)    NF5 is not known but PF5 is so well known. Explain.

 

(i)      Why is mercury(I) ion written Hg22+ while the copper(I) ion is written Cu+ ?

 

(j)      Work out the number of electrons in the ground state of La3+ and Ce4+ ions.
