3. (a) Write a note on numerical differentiation.

(b) Use (i) Trapezodial rule.

(ii) Simpsons 1/3rd rule to evaluate 10 x3 dx.

 

4. Explain Eulers method to solve a differential equation. Using this method to solve:

dy/dx = x+y, Y(0) = 0.

Choosing h=0.2, find y(1.0)

 

5. (a) Describe Poisson distribution. Discuss its important properties.

(b). The incidence of a disease in an industry is such that the workers have a 20% chance of suffering from it, what is the probability that out of six workers chosen at random, four or more will suffer from the disease?

6. Define regression lines. Discuss their importance. The two lines are given:
