A- Railway Engineering

1.    Define Permanent Way. What are the components of it? Give a neat skctch. 2

2.    What is Coning? How it helps for less wear and tear of a railway track?    3

3.    What are the f actors considered for selection of length of rail along the track? Explain the rule adopted by Indian Railways.    3

4.    Define Sleeper Density*. A BG track is to be laid with a sleeper density of (n+5). Find out the no of sleepers for a length of 1.4 Kms.    3
