1.    (a) List the advantages of a wireless network aver a wired network. How are these advantages helpful in network design

(b) Differentiate between far field and near field of an antenna. Find the far-field distance for an antenna with maximum dimension of one meter and operating frequency of 900 MHz.

2.    (a) What is Friis free spacc formula? How is this formula used in transmission? (b) Find the power radiated by the receiver (in Watts) if the power transmitted by the transmitter is 10 Wans from a distance of one Km from the receiver. (G| and G. are given as OdB)

3.    (a) What is fading? Explain short term and long term fading and also explain the concept of channcl impulse response of a digital pulse.

(b) Explain why a base band signal cannot be transmitted directly in wireless system.

4.    (a) Calculate mean exoess delay and delay spread of a signal from the given <lata.
