(a) Define volatile oils. Give various methods for obtaining volatile oils
(b) Mention the names of two umbelliferous fruits yielding volatile oil. Give their official source and chemical constituents also
(c) Write official source, characters and chemical constituents of Clove and Nutmeg.
3 Attempt any four of the following : 4x4=16
(a) Explain :
(i) Borntragers test and modified Borntragers test
(ii) Keller-Killianis test.
(b) Differentiate between Cardenolides and Bufadienolides
(c) Write a note on Leucoanthocyanidines
(d) Give various chemical tests for saponins and cyanogenetic glycosides
(e) Define alkaloids and discuss their general properties.

(a) What are fibres ? Classify them on the basis of their origin. Give biological source and method of preparation for any one fibre of animal origin
