Bringing up children is a great responsibility that demands a lot of caution. It is important, because the upbringing of children shapes the future of a country. Bringing them up is difficult today, because both parents are employed. Children have a lot of diversions and when their parents are out, they are glued to the TV at home and the time they spend with their parents is very little. The attitudes of parents should also change. The old attitude of stern parenting cannot work now, because children need a lot of attention and this strengthens the parent-children bond. This type of bond should depend on the understanding of the parent’s concern and children’s responsibilities.

The focus should be on the discipline of children-discipline for becoming and being a good human being. Children must be made to understand this on their own. This should be the main concern of the parents. In the process the children would be exposed to the many choices available to them. However this is not the only method of good parenting. Every parent has to evolve his own method depending on the emotional needs of every child.
