Q.1(a) How transducers differ from actuators? Justify with suitable explanation.

(b) Explain the various ways of classifying the transducers.

(c) What do you understand with fiber optic sensor? discuss its advantages over conventional transducer. [Marks 5+4+5]

Q.2(a) discuss various elements involved in making an Intelligent sensors.

(b) What do you understand with Rad:o isotopes? discuss with a few industrial applications.

(c) Describe the construction and circuit diagran of thermal conductivity detector (two filament). [ Marks 6+4+4]

Q.3(a) discuss the working of signal linearization circuit and deduce the output expression of the circuit.

(b) Whatis Data logger? explain the basic data logger elements needed in its construction. [Marks 7+7]

3.4(a) Whatis the advantage of using supervisory control system? discuss with a few process example.

(b) explain the drawback of position algorithm used in DDC structure and discuss how to

overcome with these drawback? [ Marks 7+7]

Q.5(a) What is Programmable controller? explain its advantages and disadvantages over relay based controller.

(b) Draw a laDder diagram for flashing of light in the subsequent pattern:

(i) Flash all the 5 lamps with a time gap of 1.5 min., when all flash switch is pressed.

(ii) Rash all alternate lamps with a time gap of 1.0 min., when alternate switch is pressed.

(iii) Count both switches for 3 times each, when equals the count exit that sequence. [Marks 4+10]
