branch office.people with claims against the company are obtained
to arrive in poisson fashion at an avg. rate of 20 per eight hour
a day .The amount6 of time that an adjuster spends with a
claimant is obtained to have negative exponential distribution with mean service time 40 minutes.Claiments are processed in the order
of their order appearance.How many hours a wek can an adjuster
expect to spend with claimants.How much time,on the avg. does
claimant spend in the branch office. (8)


(ii)At a 1 man barber shop,the customer arrive subsequent poisson
process at an avg. rate of five per hour and they are served
according to exponential distribution distribution with an avg.
service rate of 10 min.Assuming that only five seats are available
for waiting customers,find the avg. time a customer spends in
the system. (8)
