Quantity Unit cost

Rs. 10

Rs. 9

Rs. 8
The monthly demand for the product is 200 units, the cost of the storage is 25% of the unit cost and ordering cost is Rs. 20.00 per order.
(b) A manufacturer has to supply his customer with 600 units of his products per year. Shortage are not allowed and storage cost amounts to 60 paise per unit per year. The set up cost is Rs. 80.00, obtain

(b) The avg. queue length.
8. (a) A T.V. repairman obtains that the time spent on his job has an exponential distribution with mean 30 minutes.
If he repairs sets in the order in which they came in and if the arrival of sets is Poisson with an avg. rate of 10 per eight hour day, what is his expected idle time day? How many jobs are ahead of the avg. set just brought in?
(b) A petrol station has 2 pumps. The service time follows the Exponential distribution with mean four minutes and cars arrive for service in a Poisson process at the rate of
10 cars per hour. obtain the probability that a customer has to wait for service. What proportion of time the pump remains idle?
