You can see there is photo of dolphins in left side of this paragraph,Photo in left of page is very popular these days and this is default option on HowToExam that means if you upload a photo and do not change the layout your content will use this layout.

This layout can only be used with "half" or "quarter" photo size i.e; "full" photo size option does not works with this layout, If you want to use full photo size option you must use "photo on top" layout.

If you have very small photo you should use only "quarter" photo size as "full" or "half" can blur the image, If you have doubt then you can do experiments, It is possible to change layout or photo size at any point of time.

It is very easy to  select "photo in left" layout, While submitting the article you just need to select the leftmost or first(default) option in layout field.Photo in Left

Photo on top of paragraph - Example

E-mail Print PDF
You can see there is a big photograph on the top of text that you are reading right now, this layout is good when you want to tell a lot through images or you have nice big images. Important thing to note is that "Photo on top" layout is only option to add "full" size photo in content.

Photo on top can be used in many ways:
  • Add photo and its story in same paragraph,  In this approach photo will be on the top of its story, reader will first see photo and then he will read about it, This is very useful techneq in writing image rich tutorials.
  • Add story in 1st paragraph ,use Add button then add photo in 2nd paragraph, in this approach reader will first read story then will see photograph, this approach is great when you are trying to explain a complex image, You can also make complex scenarios like using three paragraphs and putting story on the top and bottom of image.

Setting photo on top layout is very simple, While creating a content select red marked middle box for content on top layout.

How to add Photo in content

E-mail Print PDF
A photo is something that attracts readers, that gives you a chance to give great first impression about your content and some time it is a necessity. There are two ways to add a photo in content.

Method 1:

This method is easy to use and works well in most of the cases. First specify your paragraph layout, Photo in left is default layout and works well, you can do experiments or you can leave it as it is. See image below to choose layout.

After selecting layout, Add text by clicking on editor, Once you are done with text, Upload photo from your computer using Browse button. See image below.

A upload window will pop after clicking on browse button, Locate your photo in your computer and select it then press open, see image below.

Now select photo size, in this tutorial all images are in full size, full size only works with photo on top layout, full size is good with tutorials, in other cases half and quarter works well. See image below.

Method 2:

This method is more complicated and you should read further only if you are familiar with HTML or you are a advanced user and wants to explore more.

Click on Editor Button to open Editor, See image below.

Now click on "Insert/Edit image" which is located on top right corner of editor. See Image below.

A squeeze box will appear after clicking on icon, If you want to add a image directly from URL, insert URL in front of URL box, see image below.

Now if you want to change the height and width, you can specify it in boxes front of dimension, these are in pixels, It is recommended to keep Proportional box checked, else image will stretch in one direction. You can change the alignment too, See the effect of change in Preview panel (Right).

You can upload image from your computer, Click on upload icon, See image below.

A popup box will appear, you can directly drag and drop your images in the box, or you can use Browse button, See image below.

Once you have added all images in this popup box click on upload button, See image below.

Once all your images are uploaded popup box will disappear and file browser will look something like this,

Note that these images has loaded to server but have not been added to your content, to add image in content first click on the image, Now properties section will start showing the size and layout option as below,

Give some useful name to Alternate text, To change the size change the height and width in Dimensions field, to change the image position change the Alignment. Once you are satisfied click on insert button on bottom of this box. See image below.
