Q1) Define the term ‘Industry’ and describe the various attributes of industry

under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.

Q2) State and explain various authorities for the settlement of Industrial disputes

under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.

Q3) Define the term ‘Strike’ and discuss the provisions relating to illegal strikes

and Lock-outs under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.

Q4) “The key stone of the Factories Act is safety first and safety last”. Comment.

Q5) State and explain the provisions relating to ‘Health and Welfare’of the workers

under the Factories Act, 1948.

Q6) Examine the powers of ‘Commissioners’under the Workmen’s Compensation

Act, 1923.

Q7) State and explain the various benefits assured to the insured employees and

their dependents under the Employees State Insurance Act, 1948.

Q8) Discuss the following :

a) Authorised deductions from the wages of the employed person under

the payment of Wages Act, 1936.

b) Powers of the Inspector under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
