1. Discuss in details the purpose and objects of the Design Act, 2000. 16
2. What is a design ? Discuss the relationship between copyright in design and copyright in a work. 16
3. What is the procedure for registration of design ? Also state the provisions regarding terms of design. 16
4. Explain the meaning of piracy of designs. What remedies are available in such cases ? 16
5. Explain the procedure for registration of the geographical indications under the Geographical Indications Act, 1999. 16
6. What rights are conferred by registrations of Geographical Indications ? How these rights are protected ? 16
7. Explain the layout designs which can be registered under the semiconductor Integrated Circuits Layout Design Act, 2000. Also state the procedure for registration and advantages thereof. 16
8. Explain the offences and penalties for infringement of Layout design. 16
9. Write notes on any two : 20
