(e) What is Line of balance? Explain the LOB technique.
(1) There are 8 jobs A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H, which can be processed in any of the 3 machines, Mp M2 and M3 in a job shop. The processing times are given in the table:

(a) What is quality circle? How are quality circle formed? Discuss the formation and working of QCs in an engineering industry.
(b) Write a note on costs of quality and the approaches that may be taken, which will improve quality, but at a lower cost.
(c) 10 samples (each of size 100) of a component were inspected. The results of the inspection are given below :

Idle time = 15%. Performance rating = 120%. Allowance = 12% of Normal time. Determine the standard time per unit produced.
