COMPUTER ORGANIZATION

Time: three Hours] [Max. Marks : 80

Unit – I
1 (a) Draw the block diagram of dual 4-to-1 line multiplexers and discuss its operation
by means of function table.
(b) discuss fault detection with odd parity bit.

Or
2. (a) Construct a 5-to-32-line decodes with 4 3-to-8 line decoders with enable and 1
2-to-4 line decoders.
(b) Convert the subsequent decimal numbers to the bases indicated.
(i) 7562 to octal
(ii) 1938 to hexa decimal
(iii) 175 to binary

Unit – II
3. (a) Design a 4-bit combinational circuit decrementer using 4 full – adder circuits.
(b) The subsequent transfer statements specify a memory. discuss the memory operation
in every case.
(i) R2 ß M [AR]

(iii) R5 ß M [R5]

Or
4. (a) Derive the control gates associated with the program counter PC in the basic
Computer.
(b) What is the difference ranging from a direct and indirect instruction? How many

(b). Convert the subsequent arithmetic expression into reverse polish notation and show
the stack operation for evaluating outcome. 3+4[10(2+6)+8]

8. (a) Distinguish ranging from Risc and Cisc processors.
(b). discuss booths algorithm for multiplication and binary integers.

9. (a) What is difference ranging from isolated I/o and memory mapped I/o? elaborate the
advantages and disadvantages of each?
(b) What is Associate memory? Derive match logic?
