1) State and discuss pH-partition theory in the absorption of drugs.

2) Describe stoichiometric ration in the analysis of complexation. define 1 method for determining the identical.

3) The decomposition of glucose in aqueous acid solution was obtained to follow 1st order. The initial concentration was obtained to be 0.056M. The concentration after a period of 12 hours was 4.10 × 10–2 mole/liter.
a) Calculate the volume of glucose remaining undecomposed after eight hours.
b) Calculate rate constant.
c) Estimate the amount of glucose lost during the period of 24 hours.

4) Describe adsorption at:
a) Solid/liquid interface
b) Solid/gas interface.

5) Write the principle and methods involved in the determination of particle size in a powder using Andreasen apparatus.

6) A sample Newtonian fluid is analyzed by applying a shear of 8000dy/cm2. The rate of shear is obtained to be 200 sec–1. compute the viscosity, kinematic viscosity and fluidity. The density at 25°C is 0.788g/cc.

7) Explain the concept of DLVO theory with energy curves. How this theory is applied in stabilizing the colloidal dispersion?

8) Describe the method of study and usefulness of Brookefield viscometer in the valuation of suspensions.
