PART - A
I. Write brief notes on any ten. Each answer shall be limited to 60 words approximately :
a) UNCITRAL model law.
b) ADR systems.
c) Ad hoc arbitration.
d) Interim measures by the court.
e) What is meant by international commercial arbitration ?
f) Explain arbitral award.
g) Role of N.G.O. in Dispute Resolution.
h) Discuss settlement agreement.
i) Explain the functioning of Lok Adalat.
j) What is the form and content of award ? k) State the procedure of conciliation.
l) What is foreign award ? (10x2=20 Marks)
PART - B
II. Answer all the questions :
a) A filed an application for setting aside an arbitral award. The court adjourned the proceedings, for a specific period of time. Examine whether the act of the court is appropriate.
b) An arbitration agreement provided for the appointment of an even number of arbitrations. Consider the validity of the arbitration agreement.
c) An arbitral award which was a reasoned one way challenged on the ground that it was unreasonable. Decide whether reasonableness of the reasons in a speaking award is justifiable.
d) By agreement between parties a marital dispute was referred to Lok Adalat. Subsequently, not satisfied with the decision of LokAdalat, on second thoughts, one of the parties want to approach the court. Is it permissible ? (4x6=24 Marks)

b) How far family courts are rendering speedy justice ?
c) Discuss various grounds for setting aside an arbitral award.
d) Explain the recognition and enforcement of foreign awards. (3x12=36 Marks)
