5    Analyze the following case study and answer the questions given at the end

A large reputed company manufactures and sells water-punfiers It had been in this business for over a decade and steadily gained market share Over the last year, other brands have started eating into its market share and the Profits after Tax reduced by over 30%

The top management deliberated over this problem of decreasing market share-and profits They finally decided to enter into a joint-venture with an overseas firm to import new technology so that water-purifiers would improve considerably They felt that by doing so they could carve a niche and regain their lost market share and profits

The implementation of this plan requires a multipronged strategy but two departments which were required to immediately swing into action were the technical department and the sales and marketing department
