Before answering the question, candidate should ensure that they have been supplied the correct and complete question paper. No complaint in this regard, will be entertained after examination.

 


Note: Question No. 1 Section A is compulsory. Attempt any two questions from Section B and any two questions from Section C. In all attempt five questions.

Section A

Q-1 (i) Name any five power converters used in the machine control. (2.5)

(ii) Name any two methods of analysis of induction motor on non-sinusoidal voltage waveforms. (2.5)

(iii) The input displacement factor decides the fundamental current drawn. It is more at poor power factors for the same power demand. This is true or false for DC drive performance. (2.5)

(iv) What is coefficient of Adhesion in the Electric Traction? (2.5)

(v) Explain plugging in brief. (2.5)

(vi) Describe speed reversal in brief. (2.5)

(vii) Name any two energy efficient motors used in domestic apparatus. (2.5)

Q-6. Describe choices of motors with ratings for traction drives. (20)
